Weekender of the Week | Big Canoe and North Georgia Weekenders
By kve | December 27, 2007
There are only a handful of weekenders up here that I have fallen in love with. Located in the North Georgia mountain community of Big Canoe, 6152 Trout Lily Trail is truly an upscale rustic cabin with urban accents. It starts off with a very practical and curb appealing corner lot complete with a circular driveway. The cabin welcomes everyone with a covered rocking chair front porch. Upon entering you see the rustic greatroom, dining area, and open kitchen with island. The stacked stone fireplace makes it all worthwhile as it is capable of heating up the whole home. There is a main level bedroom and full bath room along with a laundry closet and pantry. The upstairs is romantic with a cozy master open to a stacked stone tub. A fun loft is perfect for kids, a library or an office nook. The view is mostly wooded but the sunrises from the front of the home are worth getting getting up for and just as vibrant as a cup of coffee. Three seasons are appreciated on the breezy screened porch. The best part is that this home is sold tastefully furnished. Meticulous owners have maintained this home throughout their ownership.
Trout Lily Trail is a hidden paradise in Big Canoe because of its close proximity to the Jeep Trail, and its lack of traffic.
Wildlife abounds with frequent deer, turkeys, and even foxes being common visitors in this area. Most of the homes on Trout Lily are weekenders too, but the full timers are quiet, friendly, and unobtrusive. This is a street where walkers and neighbors stop to shoot the breeze if you are outside simply enjoy the neighborhood. It’s a bit of a drive from the North gate but still only about 6 minutes from the center of Big Canoe. The ambitious can literally walk to the pool via the Jeep Trail in about 20 minutes. Come see it for yourself if you don’t believe it! To see more of this cozy north Georgia cabin, visit us at IBA Mountain Homes or contact Karin Elliott at (770) 655-4303.
