Trunk Or Treat-Big Canoe’s Biggest Event
Calling all Halloweeners! We are in the planning stages for one of Big Canoe’s BIGGEST events of the year, TRUNK OR TREAT! Here in Big Canoe we don’t torture our children by making them hike to the top of Sanderlin Mountain for Tootsie Rolls. Rather than making the kids go to the candy, we bring the candy to the kids in the form of a Big Canoe Tailgate Party. Kids can safely walk the Wildcat Parking lot loop collecting candy from familiar faces, (albeit decorated faces) with their parents while they visit with friends and neighbors. Friendly pets also come in costumes! Costume contests, hay rides, s’mores, and the very, very popular Trail Of Terror are all sideline events at Trunk or Treat. Every car trunk should come in costume too. My car is scary enough on it’s own, and the inside is more terrifying than the outside! Since I’m a busy gal I’ll just keep the car looking as it is and title my theme as “The Car from the Black Lagoon”! It’s as simple as that! Other ideas are spider web coffins, zombie people crawling out of trunks (usually the morning after Trunk of Treat if they’ve had too much), and strobe lights.
Trunk or Treat is a volunteer event and we need a team of scary residents for the Trail Of Terror. Dig through your closets (or the back of my car) and find an old ill fitting, moth eaten tuxedo, then toss some flour on your face and get your “Zombie” on! The date is HALLOWEEN! Come around 6′ish. This year there is a $10 cover charge per car. Funds will go towards the Trail Of Terror & Prizes. Anyone who volunteers on the Trail gets in FREE!
