Big Canoe and North Georgia Real Estate Market Improving
By Karin Elliott | January 14, 2008
Good news for Big Canoe real estate as calls and inquiries for North Georgia real estate have have been on the upswing. I’m excited to say that regardless of the enconomic forecast, Big Canoe has proven to be “outside of the box” once again. We have had several calls and emails from hopeful buyers looking for good deals! Many of these buyers are using either cash or equity in their homes to buy weekenders or possible rentals. They are ready to close quickly and don’t want to waste time.
The Sellers worry about the low offers that are presented, and I tell them that of the 231 or so homes for sale up here in Big Canoe, they chose your home. If you don’t like the offer, counter, but counter reasonably and remember that the moment that house went up on the market was the moment you “divorced” yourself from the house. Sales are not personal. Both sides want what’s best for them. There is usually a meeting point after a few counters Buyer and Seller meet in the middle and all is well at the closing. I encourage my buyers to put anything on paper but to expect a counter. On the same note I tell my sellers to remove the emotions and make a strategic counter.
Incidentally, Big Canoe rentals have picked up too with out of state buyers that need comfy accomodations within the gates. Ironically, many of these rentors are folks that require lodging while they are looking at potential Big Canoe rental homes for purchase. Regardless, I am pleased with the sudden upturn in inquiries for North Georgia mountain real estate - lets hope the trend continues!
