A Rare Find Lake Home in Big Canoe
By Karin Elliott | July 22, 2008
Today is a lucky day because I picked up a FABULOUS listing! It’s one of only 3 homes on Lake Sconti with a clear lake and golf course view. It is centrally located and within walking distance to all the amenities, especially the new clubhouse!! The 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with loft has a huge private lake view deck with shade trees that hit it perfectly in the afternoon when you want to sit outside and watch the turtles bumbling around in the lake or the busy hummingbirds compete over the feeder. This fee simple home is not a condo, nor are there any condo fees associated with it. It is simply a cabin on the lake with one of the best interior views I have ever seen in Big Canoe at a very modest price of $329,900.
There is a nice history behind this house also. It was originally owned by a couple in their 90s that would visit on the weekends and liked to fish and entertain. They put a little landing out by the lake where they could set a couple of chairs and would fish and drink a few scotches down by the lake deep into twilight. Last year when I heard it went up for sale, I put my sneakers on because I knew I needed to move quickly and brought everyone I thought was in reach through the house. Everyone loved it but only one couple was ready to buy. The new owners love the home very much and have improved it tremendously since they bought it, the biggest highlight is the 10 by 36′ deck overlooking the lake. However because they planned to move up to Big Canoe full time they chose to buy a bigger lake home.
Rarely do any of the 3 Lakewatch lakeside homes ever make it to the market because they sell via word of mouth but the owners decided that they wanted to get it up on the market with as much exposure as possible. I will be shocked if this Big Canoe homes does not sell very quickly. If you are even slightly interested in seeing this please call me ASAP for an appointment. I have it on the Big Canoe Agent Caravan tomorrow and once the news spreads this home will be gone faster than a bowl of summer cherries!
I am NOT making this up, remember the Big Canoe foreclosure? Poof! I’ll keep the phone under my pillow so feel free call any time! ![]()
