Big Canoe Animal Rescue

Thank you all for the fabulous comments on the “Bug-Brawl”. I love getting these since it’s the first contest like this that we have ever done. Sunday is the cut-off so keep ‘em coming!
On another quick note, we have offered to provide profiles for animals in need of a good home for Big Canoe Animal Rescue (BCAR). Our hope is to help generate some more adoptions. The animal shelter here in Big Canoe is small - with space to handle only about 8 dogs at one time. Since the Big Canoe shelter is a no-kill facility (meaning animals are not euthanized ), the capacity of the shelter can be overwhelmed when dogs are not adopted.
Many of our reader our animal lovers, so we will start featuring a “Dog in the Spotlight” on a regular basis. We’ll try to provide some photos along with some background history as well . All of these dogs need loving families to spoil them silly and help them spend the rest of their lives safe and secure with their “forever” families. Many Big Canoe volunteers foster these pups and rehabilitate them whether it is learning how to walk on a leash or how to trust a human. These volunteers are paid in kisses and tail wags.
Since I moved here 3 years ago I have wanted to do something to help. Many of you have already shown interest in BCAR, and I urge you to take some time to swing by BCAR and meet a new friend. You’ll be happy you did.

Awwww, that photograph is precious ! Who couldn’t love that face
Big Canoe Animal Rescue is a tremendously worthwhile cause. One day, when I am a full time resident, I look forward to supporting their efforts and reaping some of those kisses and tail wags !
