Splogging Site Has Been Removed
By djelliott999 | February 18, 2008
Over the past couple days, I have been trying to resolve a problem where another website had copied multiple blogs (in their entirety) from our site and re-posted them on their own site. Not only had they taken the content from us, there was no link back to the original article or mention of the orginal author. I contacted every source I could find that was related to this site in an effort to have my content removed. This morning I received this email:
Hello,
we are very sorry, we were testing and did not meant to steal your content, the site has been removed, also we do not added any links for search engines to find us, so we are very sorry if that caused any problems.
The site has been removed.sorry again.
I am very pleased these folks finally removed my content. While I have no idea what they were doing or why they seemed so focused on IBA Mountain Homes blog, I do know that search engines including Google picked up their blog. That is how I originally discovered they had copied our content! Anyway, the problem is resolved for now, but this little episode highlights why it is important to be vigilant regarding your online content. It is almost too easy for someone to lay claim to your content and make it their own. And to the site that had copied my content? Thanks for removing it.
