IBA Mountain Homes

IBA Mountain Homes is a realty group located in the North Georgia community of Big Canoe. Big Canoe® is a registered servicemark of Big Canoe, LLC. IBA Mountain Homes is not affiliated with the developer. IBA focuses on resales in Big Canoe including homes for sale, lots, and condos.

IBA created this blog to discuss living in Big Canoe as well as the North Georgia real estate market. We are full time residents of the Big Canoe community, and our job is real estate - thus the name of the blog! :) Our blog is opinion. Feel free to leave us a comment if you like, and as with anything on the internet, we urge you to always verify information independently.

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Anyone who reads this is probably wondering how death threats, lost dogs, and real estate marketing could possibly be tied together, so let me explain by fleshing out the title a bit more:

First, let me explain the death threats.
The metro Atlanta area has a very popular talk show personality named Clark Howard that hosts a consumer [...]

Interior Designers Serving Big Canoe - Cynthia Aiken

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Customers always ask me to find them certain style homes when they first come to Big Canoe. They have big ideas in mind and I’m always happy to help whether it’s a rustic cabin with a view or a formal well appointed home with all the bells and whistles. As you know, Big Canoe real estate has such a [...]

Many of you already know that [...]

Outdoor Living Areas

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

My house just got a whole lot bigger, thanks to the warm sunny weather. Suddenly the rocking chair front porch is my new favorite office. The screened porch doubles as a great place to read a book and dinners taste a whole lot better cooked on the grill and served on the deck! This is [...]

Not Many Foreclosures in Big Canoe, But There Are Some Good Deals!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

The Big Canoe Community has been remarkably stable throughout the nationwide dip in real estate sales.  I blogged about this fact the other night, and I’ll repeat a thought I mentioned in that article:  It’s very reassuring to me that our mountain community has retained its character, and that prices have been so stable.  Even with [...]

Big Canoe Community Remains a Popular Choice for Second Home Buyers

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Over the past weekend, we had several calls from clients looking for second homes or “weekenders” as we like to call them.  We also had a few clients looking over our Big Canoe real estate listings that were to be used for their primary residence.  Considering the different ways in which these two groups of clients intended to [...]
