The Big Canoe Community’s First and (so far) Only Variable Rate Real Estate Commission

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

We had a listing meeting today with some clients in the Big Canoe Community.  Our conversation for a listing meeting was fairly typical in that the sellers wanted to know about our marketing (particularly internet marketing in Big Canoe) as well as new suggestions on how to get their home sold.  Something they were not aware [...]

Big Canoe Home Destroyed by Fire - Remember to Clean Your Chimney!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

While our family was enjoying the Big Canoe Easter egg hunt this past Sunday, we noticed what appeared to be every emergency vehicle in Big Canoe heading up the mountains to what we later found out was a house fire.  Unfortunately the house was a total loss, but the fire crews were able to save the other nearby [...]

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Over the past few days, we have blogged about the different grocery stores serving the Big Canoe Community.  As mentioned in the past two articles, as a real estate company serving Big Canoe, its a topic we get asked about quite a bit. The last two grocery stores I want to mention are the Publix [...]

Grocery Shopping in Big Canoe

Friday, March 21st, 2008

We have blogged in the past about how nice it is to live in the virtually self-sufficient community of Big Canoe.  We have our own water department and supply, our own public safety, roads department, etc.   We also have a small general store known as the IGA Express (complete with squeaky spring-loaded front door).  The [...]

Wild Spring Break Big Canoe Style

Friday, March 14th, 2008

It’s that time of year again where you do anything you can just to stretch your legs and be outside. I feel the sudden urge to rake up the leaves and wake up my plants. I even dug out all the gook in my water feature hoping to sit on the porch late into the afternoon. [...]

The Equestrian Section in the Big Canoe Community - Not Many Horses, But Still a Great Value!

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Today I had a listing meeting in the Equestrian area of Big Canoe. It was a beautiful day and the creeks were clear and running full.  I met with the owners and was quickly astounded by the Atlanta skyline view so close to the main gate! They showed me the almost 3 acre lot, and [...]
