“Over the river and through the woods…” I’m so ready for Thanksgiving, I can just taste it! Have no fears if you are a late planner because here is some very good news!
This is just a quick blog to let you know there are a few vacation rentals in the Big Canoe Community available for Thanksgiving! One of these homes is 5216 Columbine Drive which is also for sale. It has 4 big bedrooms, 3 fireplaces (one on each level) and room for a feast! The terrace level is all about fun and relaxation with a wet bar, pool table, and large flat screen TV.
The next home is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath Treetopper which is perfect for a couple that is visiting family but prefers privacy. There’s not enough kitchen space for a feast but the privacy and lake view is the perfect escape after a great meal.
Two more are smaller 3 bedroom getaways that are perfect for overflow guests.
Thanksgiving is always so much better in the mountains! The Clubhouse will be having a Thanksgiving feast but you will need to make reservations in advance. Please give me a call if you are interested and I will get you all the info you need!

While the North Georgia real estate market is not as hot as it was in 2006 and early 2007, the Big Canoe real estate market (located in the North Georgia mountains) is still fairly active. Part of this activity is related to the very active Big Canoe rental market. For our company, IBA Mountain Homes, Big Canoe rentals have been on the rise since the start of 2008. One of my hottest rentals in Big Canoe is also one of my least expensive! It’s a one bedroom Treetopper with a lake view and a luxurious set-up. The owner had some big-time vision when she found this little gem of Big Canoe real estate. She stripped it and made it into a honeymoon quatilty showplace. It rents because it’s sexy and inexpensive. Yes, that did sound like a lingerie add, but one can’t help but to let down their hair here. The studio bedroom is bright, open, and dressed in fabulous linens. The fireplace is wood burning and ads soooo much ambiance on those chilly winter nights. The kitchen is efficient but not ready for a 4 course meal. It has 2 burners, a coffee machine, microwave and small fridge. It doesn’t matter too much since there are 2 restaurants within walking distance, and also an IGA Express with a nice variety of wine and beer.
This unit is also for sale, and in my opinion, one of the best investments in Big Canoe. The asking price is $159,900 and furnishings are negotiable. Owner financing is available. The best way to decide is to stay here yourself. Call me to set up a rental. You may like it so much that you’ll want to buy it. Either way, feel free to contact me at either (770) 655-4303 or email me!

We have many Big Canoe rentals listed at http://ibavacationrentals.com/, and one of my personal favorites is Shooting Star Falls. Shooting Star Falls can accomodate up to 6 guests comfortably. The owner of this Big Canoe rental describes this home as “decadent and private” which is an accurate description as this rental home is in a quiet section of Big Canoe, and the home itself is beautifully decorated with many personal touches throughout.
The floor plan for Shooting Star Falls includes 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a spacious loft area, with the master bedroom on the main floor. A common question we receive from potential rentors is “Does this house have a hot tub?” This home not only features a hot tub with a view of the North Georgia sky, but also a small waterfall. This small waterfall provides beautiful background music to an evening of stargazing while relaxing in the tub.
Prices for Shooting Star Falls are very reasonable ranging from $259 per night in the off season to $599 for a 3 night (weekday) North Georgia getaway! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Why not schedule a romantic 3 day retreat? Shooting Star Falls is one of our more popular rentals, so be sure to call us for availability. This home located on 6099 Indian Pipe Drive of Big Canoe is a fantastic deal. For only $950 per month, this home is available for rental or lease. The owners would prefer a minimum lease / rent of 6 months. This home features an open floor plan, rustic accents throughout (such as hardwood flooring, vaulted wood ceilings, and large stacked stone fireplace). Other features include 3 large bedrooms, a spacious laundry room (with washer and dryer included), and a large screened porch overlooking the scenic North Georgia mountains. The home is located on a quiet street in a quiet community.
The community of Big Canoe is unique, and you can find many articles describing the features, amenities, and activities available within this 8000+ acre community here on our site. Some highlights:

Treat yourself and up to 5 more friends or family to this incredible North Georgia getaway located in the community of Big Canoe! This Big Canoe rental home features outstanding long range mountain views. On a clear evening, you can see Stone Mountain and the lights of Atlanta nearly 70 miles in the distance. Enjoy the majestic simplicity of stargazing from the 5 person hot tub!
This Big Canoe rental is tastefully decorated with a game room in the basment including a pool table and foosball table perfect for the kids…or adults. The great room features a fireplace, large flat screen TV, comfortable furniture, and more great views of the North Georgia mountains. The large kitchen is well stocked and features all the necessary equipment.
The community of Big Canoe features miles of hiking trails, fishing from 3 stocked, cold water lakes (the trout in Lake Petit are HUGE), swimming, tennis, full service state of the art fitness center, 27 holes of golf on the Joe Lee designed course, and several restaurants inside of Big Canoe as well as many more within a short drive. There are many other activities to be enjoyed nearby including apple picking or one of my personal favorites, Amicalola Falls State Park.
This really is a fantastic deal if you want to get away from the summer heat of Florida or the winter chill of our Northern states. The owner of this rental unit also has 2 other Big Canoe rentals available. The pricing on the Stargazer Lodge home is $329 per night or $1699 for a week. Pricing is the same for both in season and off season, but the owner does offer a mid-week special for any 3 week nights for $699!
We have many rentals listed on our site for rentals in Big Canoe, and we will be featuring a new rental unit as well as one our homes listed for sale in Big Canoe every week. IBA Realty Group hosts a separate site with our list of homes for sale as well as our listings for Big Canoe real estate. To rent this unit or to obtain more information do not hesitate to contact Karin Elliott at either (770)655-4303 or via email. We answer our phones 7 days a week up until around 10:00 PM.
*Please note that additional terms may apply. Also, until confirmed, prices may vary. Big Canoe is a registered servicemark of Big Canoe Company, LLC., and neither the owner of this blog or the related web sites have any affiliation with the developer of Big Canoe .

The Big Canoe rental market is extremely active. In fact, it is so active, instead of incorporating a page or two into our main site at http://ibamountainhomes.com , we dedicated an entire web site to it! Yes, it does look a lot like our Big Canoe real estate site, but we feel we put together a really great list of top-notch North Georgia cabin rentals.
Prices for rental units start around $130 and increase to over $300. Do not be dissuaded by a low OR high price. All of the listed units are very nice. When we decided to start the web site for the rentals, we made a choice not to engage in “problem units”. A problem unit is one where we receive complaints from rentors. It’s pretty simple really – the people renting the place want a nice, clean unit, without a lot of hassle, and we want the same.
It is worth mentioning that many of these units have an excellent rental history. This could be very compelling for the buyer that is looking for a way to mitigate monthly overhead on a second home. If you have any questions about the rentals listed on http://ibavacationrentals.com or about any of our North Georgia real estate listings, please call us at (770) 655-4303. You can also reach us by email.
