Look for me in the pub tonight, Dan. I have a surprise for you.

Maybe you can start a blog post about the party tonight. I'll be happy to add my 2 cents.

Tom - We'll try to make it over there to check out the new club! Look forward to meeting you as well. Maybe we can get you to do a guest blog about opening night at the new Big Canoe clubhouse?

Waterfalls, deer & bear...oh, my!!! But no Kathy, YET!

I promise, Kathy, you won't miss the constant construction of Hotlanta. We had another quiet, cool night here in Big Canoe ( I can say 'we' now). I highly recommend figuring out a way to make the move.

Dan, I look forward to meeting you Saturday night. The drinks will be flowing in your new Black Bear Pub!

Karin,
You can post my lovely picture if you like. It is quite a site. We unfortunately are only a few blocks from the construction-which we hear all night long. There is something about that sound that is unsettling. I would rather be lulled by a waterfall.

Glad you're here!

You do know it's customary for bartenders buy a round of drinks for real estate agents they've worked with? :)

I too used to live in metro Atlanta. I first moved there in 1987 and loved it. But after 20 years, I began to long for the mountains. I know myself well enough, however, to know that I still enjoy the company of other people. The true community spirit of Big Canoe makes moving to the mountains feel more like home for me.

So maybe that's partly why, when I first visited Big Canoe a few years ago, I fell in love. I think it happened somewhere between the main gate and the covered bridge. Today, I'm happy to say that this is now my home!

Last night was my first night to sleep here. I noticed that the temperature outside had dropped to about 72 so I turned the AC off and opened the windows above my bed so I could let the waterfall below lull me to sleep.

I think I may never leave.

I am home!

If you are in Big Canoe, come see me at the new Black Bear Pub overlooking Lake Sconti. I'm your new bartender.

See you soon.
