Life in Big Canoe, Real Estate in the Mountains

Break out the beans for the chili, load up the firewood and stock up on the vino because here it comes again, round two of Snow Jam 2008! I think this one might stick because I got distracted in the grocery store bringing home not much more than bread, milk, and frozen veggies. YUCK! We’ll be eating a lot of PB&J’s along with French toast and whatever other fun things you can do with bread. Feel free to send any and all recipes. I went to Ace Hardware to pick up a new sled but they were out and expecting a fresh delivery in the afternoon. This also means it will snow more because we only have 2 discs and 4 family members. I’ll let my husband wear the Hefty Bag sprayed with cooking oil for extra speed! Has anyone out there ever REALLY tried that or is it just an urban myth?

Love it or hate it, snow draws people to Big Canoe, and Big Canoe real estate sales start to warm-up. Personally I think it brings out the kid in all of us. Getting up every few hours just to peek out the window to see if it is really sticking and impatiently waiting for your school to pop up on the news under cancellations! In old Park Ridge, New Jersey we’d get up to hear the town siren at 7AM which meant that school was out.
