Big Canoe Community Clubs Have Something for Everyone!

Tired of Sitting Around the House?
What’s to do in Big Canoe: Join the Club!
I’ve been promising myself for the last 5 years that I’m going to LIVE in Big Canoe one of these days. Yes, I live here but I’m a working mom and find it hard to squeeze out time to dive in to any extra-curricular activities. This being said I have joined a few friends and we are informally working on a movie club. This club is for chicks only and we focus on movies that our significant others would prefer not to watch. We are taking turns hosting Chick Flick Night and each attendee brings an appetizer, while the host picks a movie. The last one was at my house and we all watched Best in Show. It’s not really a chick flick but we had a ball watching it. To liven the snowy evening, I made a summery sangria! One of my favorite things about Big Canoe is that there truly is something for everyone.
If watching movies with a bunch of sangria sipping divas is not up your alley then there are about a million other clubs to choose from. There are so many book clubs here that they are running out of names, hence the No Name book Club! Depending on your style and personality, there is a book club for everyone. Heck, I think I’ll start the Cliff’s Notes Book Club, since I fall asleep the second I recline with a book. The Writer’s Club is also very popular, and some of the authors have even been published. If you are into dining socially then join Dinner 8, a rotating cooking club where 4 couples host a theme meal ex: Mediterranean Night. The hosts make the main course and the guests bring sides. Other fun social clubs include, the singles group, hiking, travel, knitting, quilting, and more.
Not all clubs are based on fun or hobbies. There are several volunteer, fellowship and support groups too including Big Canoe Animal Rescue, Good Samaritan Clinic, AA, Al-Anon, Elder-hostel, and grief support. Chapel clubs include Bible studies, Men’s Fellowship, a Handbells choir, youth and family fellowship. The Ridgerunners and the Womens’ Guild are very popular also.
Regardless of what tickles your fancy in Big Canoe, chances are there is a club or organization for it. If not then you are free to start your own club and expand additional social opportunities, so you too can Live Well in the Mountains of Big Canoe. So, get off the couch and join a club!
Please feel free to email me for a full list of clubs and organizations.
Sincerely,
Karin Elliott, IBA Mountain Homes

Hi! There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

A pity, but I disagree with this unique upload. I do enjoy your personal page still and will continue to keep moving in return for upgrades.
