Quick Big Canoe Sale, Great Hair Salon, Awesome Trading Post

Quick note before I start: I have a great home for sale in Big Canoe that NEEDS to sell quickly!!!! Please be sure to peek at 5216 Columbine Drive on my website. Priced at 499K you will feel ensconced in luxury! Three levels with one fireplace on each level never leaves you feeling chilly!
Today was a blast in the happy metropolis of Jasper, Georgia which is just down the road from Big Canoe. After WAY too long of a lapse between haircuts I was gently encouraged by my friends and family to take the time to fix up my hair (perhaps it was more of an intervention!). However I went to a new salon this time. It is called Salon West and it’s located on Gordon Street between the Dollar General and the emergency clinic that never opened! I walked in and automatically felt like a million bucks! The shop looked fantastic, like a downtown high end salon! After a few minutes in the salon I met Amy who came highly recomended, and we clicked right away. The client prior to me walked out looking like a star, great cut, vivid color! Suddenly I was at ease! She looked at my hair the way a sculptor looks at a block of raw marble and already had the cut in mind. I told her I was ready to go a little blonder, but she actually talked me into getting lights instead of going whole hog into a high maintenance color management program. It’s like she knew how hectic my life was! The best part was that I looked great and was out of there in an hour with foiled lights and a cut!!!!! I had scheduled 2 hours for the cut so now I’m free for a whole hour! Rock on! I was ready to hit the streets of Jasper in style!
A new store had opened in downtown Jasper that I have been dying to see. It’s called the Burnt Mountain Trading Post and I couldn’t pull in the parking lot fast enough. Yes, I like to shop quickly but please remember I usually shop with 2 kids in tow! Now I had close to a whole hour alone and I was about in tears whn I saw how much fun this store looked! I was intrigued with the plethora of curiosities from cow furniture to estate jewelry! As I slowly wandered around with a goofy smile on my face I was greeted by the owner, Byron who I instantly liked! I learned that he was a fellow realtor who supplements through this very fun store! He has vendors that carry just about everything you are looking for from Fenton Glass to Oriental Rugs. Things come and go pretty quickly so be sure to stop by! you can’t miss it coming from Big Canoe of you take Cove Road to Burnt Mountain Road and head toward Main ST. Stay on 53, go through the light and it’s just behind Jasper Drugs. Look for the large bears out front!!
PS - One of my favorite Blog readers gave me her recipe for Friendship Bread, but you can’t just make it from scratch, you have to have a starter batter. Please let me know in about 10 days if you need some. I’m brand new at this but I know where to go if I need help!

It was great seeing you yesterday, Karen. I almost commented on your hair but it’s been so long since we’ve seen you, I wasn’t sure if you had a cool new doo or if I had just forgotten what you looked like.
I’m also due for a hair cut. I didn’t want to drive all the way into town to get a good cut. Since I’m in front of people 10 – 12 hrs. per day, a bad hair cut would be reeeally bad.
Thanks for the tip. Now, all I need is a day off!
