Big Canoe Clubhouse Unveiling a Huge Success!

Big Canoe Club House at Lake Sconti

The grand opening was a big hit. From the moment I walked up to the the Big Canoe clubhouse, I was greeted with a flute of champagne with a floating strawberry and a large crowd of curious neighbors. Complimentary shuttles delivered guests from all over Big Canoe.

Luckily I was able to park at my Lake Watch listing, and I beat the crowd by walking across the golf course. After a brief dedication speech the doors were opened, and a fellow Realtor friend grabbed me by the elbow to the side entrance right by the Black Bear Pub! I was one of the first to be officially served a cold beer! The moment I turned around the line was out the door. The bartenders had the line moving pretty quickly and never stopped smiling! I then toured the facility amongst guests mingling happily.

The grand foyer is as dramatic as it gets with soaring beamed ceilings, and background views of the mountains and lake Sconti. All the rooms were tastefully decorated and had ample space for large crowds. There were food stations throughout the club to keep the calories flowing. The ravioli table was very popular featuring two delicious choices of lobster ravioli in cream sauce and beef ravioli in tomato sauce. Delicioso!!!

The bruschetta table was fantastic with blue cheese, and tomato garlic delicacies!. Fruit and cheese were bountiful near the ballroom where the jazz band kept all the residents jiggling. Down by Duffers they were serving fresh carved turkey and beef sandwiches while an outdoor band also entertained! The heat didn’t seem to bother anyone as long as the cool beverages were nearby.

After interviewing several neighbors tonight the general consensus was thumbs up! We all felt a sense of pride knowing that this clubhouse is truly a masterpiece. It opens to the public tomorrow so invite your friends for a dinner they will remember.

Great pictures Karin! I can’t wait to get over there to see the interior firsthand!

It’s also worth mentioning that I grilled Karin on the food quality, and her opinion was that it was excellent. I’m really looking forward to sampling it myself.

  7. Tom Says:

I’m glad to hear that everone had a great time!

I did get a few complaints, however. Several neighbors complained that the party couldn’t keep going! Don’t worry though. We will be there for everyone daily from here on. I look forward to getting to know everyone better as the days and seasons roll on. (without 3000 people waiting behind you we’ll have more time to chat)

I also want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome here in Big Canoe. My .7 mile commute from my new home to the Black Bear Pub sure beats the traffic I used to muddle through every day in Atlanta too!

Cheers to good times, new friends and new memories!

    Karin,
Great pictures. Missed seeing you last night. We arrived around 6 p.m. to a great turnout of Big Canoers. It’s a beautiful building…. long awaited. I know it will be the perfect gathering place for everyone in our beautiful mountains of Big Canoe. The design captures the wonderful views, better than the previous building and the food was perfect.

    Tom,
Can’t blame everyone for complaining about the party ending!
I felt like Ciderella at the ball last night. Such a “Big Ta-Doo’. Sadly all good things must come to an end, but there will be many more memorable evenings.

  12. kve Says:

The family had a great time at the party. Pray the support is there for the facility. We need to erase the losses we have experinced. Those losses would go a long way to paying for other things.

Are you going to continue to update the salkes stats for Big Canoe. We have many friends interested in the community and we give them your site as a great source of info. They look to move in the coming year and have told them to tell you that they follow your website when they contact.

Bob I know it is thankless to be in your position at times but there are many that would like to see these latest upgrades play out so to speak before we embark on new large commitments. It just seems to be the smart thing for the community to knit together around this new club we have.

  19. Dan Says:

    Hi Vito,

Thanks for visiting the site and commenting! I’ll be updating the resales stats tomorrow. Look for them around noon. :)

I apologize for the “comment” left by “Barryman Davis Green.” Unfortunately, it comes with the territory when you have an open forum on the internet.

“Mr. Green” came to our site via an article about our blog on bigcanoenews.com, spent about 10 minutes on our site looking at a variety of pages, then left a comment regarding his personal habits. I added his IP to several spam blockers and also contacted his IP and filed an abuse report for spam. If he didn’t like the article, he could have just said so! :)
